Enjoy Your Stay: Konami Confirms Bloober Team’s Involvement in a Silent Hill Remake

Silent Hill fans will be having more restless dreams abouth ‘that’ town, as Konami has revealed that another Silent Hill game is in the works, and no, it’s thankfully not another Pachinko title. After the successful launch of Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake, it has been confirmed Konami have brought them back through the fog, this time to remake the game that started it all, the 1999 classic, Silent Hill.

Details so far are few and far between, as the news itself has only been announced today following Konami’s ‘Press Start’ stream, in which they delved into many other titles, including the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater remake, another look at the cute octopus filled platformer Darwin’s Paradox, as well as an update for the mobile football title, E Football.

With another Silent Hill title now under their belts, it's definitely looking up for Bloober Team, who still have the upcoming survival horror title Cronos: The New Dawn dropping this year. And it's clear to see why Konami trusts the team with the franchise. As of January 2025, Silent Hill 2 by Bloober has sold over two million copies, and holds a whopping 86 overall from aggregated reviews on Metacritic. With tackling a much older title however, it will be interesting to see how much stays true to the original title, and what would be changed to fit with the current status quo of games design.
