Genshin fans rejoice, as the new 5.7 update ‘A Space and Time for You’ has been unveiled and alongside it some further information about Childe’s mysterious master, a new permanent event in the form of the Stygian Onslaught, and more! Let’s have a look, shall we?

From Apprentice to Master

At long last, Childe’s mysterious Master Skirk , known throughout Teyvat as the once apprentice to Surtalogi "The Foul," one of Khaenri'ah's Five Sinners, joins the roster of playable characters in Genshin Impact. With the power of Abysal energy coursing through them, this five star camoflages this as Cyro, dealing damage in two unique ways,with enhanced normal attacks, and a AoE Cryo elemental burst. Both of these ‘modes’ draw upon a new resource that Skirk gains whilst in combat, Serpents Subtlety.

That’s not all of course, as a new four star also joins the fray! Dahlia, a new hydro support character and Deacon to the Church of Favonius, provides support with their renewable shield, created by his Elemental Burst. His talant also boosts the attack speed of other characters in your party, with an elemental skill which can be used to deal hydro damage to enemies, or bounce allies high into the air. Skirk, Dahlia, and Shenhe's rerun will feature in the first half of the Wish Banner, followed by reruns of the Pyro Archon Mavuika and Emilie in the second half.

The Tale of Sister and Brother Continues

5.7’s Archon Quest picks up from the recent ‘Bedtime Story’ quest. The Abyssal Order has begun to mobilise within the region of Natlan, following the orders of the Traveller’s sibling. Ready to defend their land, you join the fight with Mavuika and her allies, including Dainsleif , who has taken on a form never before seen in the game. Your sibling’s schemes become much more clear as the fight continues…

Sumeru Akademiya in Action

5.7 also provides a new simulated adventure game by those smart scholars at Sumeru Akademiya. Players can choose what is known as Companion Pieces to form their lineup, power said pieces up, and choose multiple environmental routes, each with unique challenges and unexpected encounters. Research Stages provide a bit of preparation for the Traveller before each journey, guiding Paimon to some fruit which provides buffs and power ups.

Let The Onslaught Commence

That’s still not all! A new permanent event comes in the form of Stygian Onslaught. With three bosses (which rotate with each update) and six ever increasing in difficulty levels to climb, players can fight for Artifacts , and a new item, "Dust of Enlightenment," which allows for the re-rolling of the minor affixes' enhancements on a Level 20 Artifact.

Traveller’s Tales!

Travelers' Tales: Gilded Chapter will look to bring back some familiar faces as they recount tales of their travels across Teyvat. Thoma returns back to Mondstadt, whilst Neuvillette visits Merusea Village, and Dori tries to make a deal come true in Inazuma.

And of course, who can forget that sweet optimisation? This includes:

Players will now be able to directly use Fragile Resin to claim tripled rewards from Ley Line Blossoms and common challenge Domains
