Supermassive Games Confirms Layoffs, as 36 Look to Leave The Team
Sadly, the current trend of industry layoffs continues steadily, as Supermassive Games have announced via LinkedIn that 36 employees will look to be laid off.
Known for the ever popular ‘choose your own adventure’ esque horror games like Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology, the announcement was made via the studio's main LinkedIn profile, with the statement highlighting the games industry as an “ever-evolving environment”, adding “as we adapt our team structure to better align with these changes, we have made the very difficult decision to begin in a redundancy consultation process, where we anticipate to lose up to 36 of our colleagues”.

Within this statement, the team also confirm their upcoming game Directive 8020 has been delayed to 2026, further confirming that no impact has been made on their upcoming title Little Nightmares III.
As the industry continues to feel the effect of these layoffs, I wish luck to all those hurt by this change, and hope that you find yourselves back in a position you love, in the industry we all care about.
